Puppy and Kitten Vet Care

New arrival? List of questions as long as your arm? We’ve got your back…

Getting a new puppy or kitten is an exciting time and you want to do what’s best for your new family member. With that often comes a lot of questions! There’s always a lot to discuss at your first vet appointment, and we allow plenty of time so you never feel rushed.

Puppy and kitten vaccinations

Puppy and kitten vaccinations are an essential part of preventative care for your pet. The timing of vaccines is very important – if given too early then your pet may not develop sufficient immunity, but if given too late then they may be vulnerable to infection.

The exact timing and type of vaccine your pet needs may vary depending on their age and any vaccines they may already have been given. We recommend vaccine courses to be given from 8 weeks, although puppy vaccines can be given from 6 weeks if needed.

Fleas, ticks and worms

We will also discuss parasite control with you at your appointment ensuring there are no unwanted visitors.

Kitten Vaccinations

1st vaccination from 8-9 weeks

2nd vaccination from 12 weeks

Puppy Vaccinations

1st vaccination from 6 weeks

2nd vaccination from 10 weeks

We also offer kennel cough vaccination as a non-core vaccine.

Pet Microchip

It is a legal requirement for dogs over 8 weeks old to be microchipped. We strongly advise that cats are also chipped.

Pet Insurance

They just love getting into mischief – don’t let a big vets’ bill spoil the enjoyment of your new arrival. If your pet isn’t already insured, let us arrange 5 weeks’ free insurance for you at the time of your appointment.
